 The SMP CAPI system enables SMP users to build surveys in the online SMP system and then deploy them to tablet devices and phones.  Currently the only supported devices are Android powered Tablets running Android 3.0 or higher, like the Motorola XOOM, Samsung Galaxy, Nexus 7, Galaxy smart phones etc.

 

Because the survey is built in the SMP system it is possible to deploy your survey in both modes - online and face to face if required using the same script.

 

Building your CAPI survey is identical to creating an online survey.  A more appropriate theme needs to be selected to suit the tablet environment and there are a specific set of CAPI enabled question types available - many of the online question types are not suited to CAPI surveying.

 

Downloading the survey is simple and the management of the survey for the interviewer even simpler. You start by downloading the Android SMP app from the Android Market.  This will install the CAPI system and enable the user to download and run surveys from the SMP system.
